The maximum power dissipation (PT) can be calculated by:
PT = VCC × [ICC + (N × ∆ICC × dc)] + Σ(Cpd × VCC2 × fi) + Σ(CL × VCC2 × fo)
where:
ICC
= power-down ICC maximum
N
= number of inputs driven by a TTL device
∆ICC = increase in supply current

= duty cycle of inputs at a TTL high level of 3.4 V
